Strategy's perpetual preferred stock STRC has staged a strong recovery, climbing more than 30% from its June low as the company strengthens its financial position and Bitcoin shows signs of stability.
The preferred stock is currently trading near $94, continuing its upward momentum after falling to around $71 in late June when Bitcoin briefly slipped below the $60,000 mark.
Bitcoin Sales Strengthen Liquidity
As part of its capital management strategy, Strategy sold 5,226 Bitcoin across three separate transactions, generating approximately $321 million in proceeds.
Following the sales, the company's Bitcoin holdings declined from 847,363 BTC to roughly 842,137 BTC.
Management stated that the transactions demonstrate Bitcoin can be actively utilized to meet financial obligations, including dividend payments, rather than remaining a passive reserve asset.
$4 Billion Cash Reserve Improves Financial Stability
Strategy has also significantly expanded its liquidity position.
The company recently increased its U.S. dollar reserve by an additional $250 million, bringing its total cash reserve to approximately $4 billion.
According to the company, this reserve provides nearly 2.3 years of coverage for dividend payments related to its preferred securities.
Maintaining a strong cash position is expected to enhance investor confidence while providing greater flexibility during periods of cryptocurrency market volatility.
Share Buyback Supports STRC Recovery
Another major factor supporting STRC's rebound is Strategy's ongoing share repurchase program.
The company has already repurchased approximately $106 million worth of STRC shares as part of its broader $975 million repurchase authorization.
These buybacks are intended to move the preferred stock closer to its stated $100 par value, while also improving shareholder value.
Strategy has also maintained the annual dividend rate for STRC at 12%, making the security attractive for income-focused investors.
Bitcoin Stabilization Boosts Market Sentiment
Bitcoin's recent price stability has also contributed to STRC's recovery.
After experiencing sharp volatility earlier this year, Bitcoin has managed to remain above $60,000 for several consecutive weeks, reducing market uncertainty and improving sentiment among institutional investors.
A more stable cryptocurrency market has strengthened confidence in companies with significant Bitcoin exposure, including Strategy.
Can STRC Return to $100?
During its second-quarter earnings presentation, Strategy noted that a similar recovery occurred following STRC's initial public offering in 2025.
At that time, the preferred stock required approximately 70 trading days to recover from around $90 to its full $100 par value.
Applying a similar timeline to the current recovery suggests STRC could potentially return to its target value around September 8, although company executives emphasized that market conditions will ultimately determine the pace of the recovery.
