Brazil's B3 Stock Exchange, the largest stock exchange in Latin America, has officially launched options trading for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Solana (SOL) futures, further strengthening its position in the regulated cryptocurrency derivatives market.
The newly introduced contracts became available for trading on July 6, giving institutional and retail investors additional tools to hedge risk, trade market volatility, and build diversified crypto investment strategies within a regulated financial environment.
Regulated Crypto Exposure Without Holding Digital Assets
Unlike traditional cryptocurrency trading, the new products settle into their underlying futures contracts rather than the actual digital assets. This means investors can gain exposure to cryptocurrency price movements without dealing with wallet management, token custody, or blockchain transfers.
According to B3, the contracts eliminate the need for holding spot cryptocurrencies while maintaining access to regulated crypto market opportunities.
Multiple Trading Options for Investors
The exchange now offers both call and put options on Bitcoin futures, which are denominated in Brazilian reais, while Ethereum and Solana futures contracts are settled in U.S. dollars.
Trading is available during B3's standard derivatives market hours, with eligible contracts automatically exercised upon expiration if they finish in profit, unless investors choose otherwise.
Supporting Institutional Crypto Adoption
The introduction of these products is expected to provide asset managers, institutional investors, and professional traders with more sophisticated risk management tools.
By offering regulated crypto derivatives through a local exchange, B3 enables investors to hedge positions, capitalize on market volatility, and implement advanced trading strategies without relying on offshore cryptocurrency exchanges.
B3 Continues Expanding Its Crypto Product Portfolio
The launch represents another milestone in B3's growing digital asset strategy. The exchange has steadily expanded its cryptocurrency offerings by introducing Bitcoin futures, Ethereum and Solana futures, Bitcoin options, and Bitcoin-linked event contracts.
All three futures products are benchmarked against Nasdaq Crypto Indexes, providing transparent pricing and globally recognized market references.
As demand for regulated digital asset investments continues to grow, B3's latest expansion highlights the increasing integration of cryptocurrencies into traditional financial markets and reinforces Latin America's growing role in the global crypto ecosystem.
